Jax Goes A-Courtin' !

I think we may be in for some trouble when Jaxon turns 16! He is handsome and charismatic at 7 and already made his first attempt to woo a girl.
Jax came to me the other day and said he was going to write a love letter to a girl from his first grade class. I was torn between "AWWW how cute!" and "Oh Lord, he is going to get his feelings hurt". However, being the supportive parent I am, I told him to go for it. So he took some light grey construction paper and wrote, "Dear A. I would like to be your boyfriend. From,Jaxon". Then he rolled it up like a scroll and took a band of blue construction paper and wrapped it around the scroll to seal it.
When Josh came home, I let him know that there was an errand that he needed to run. Jax went upstairs, put on his black suit with a white shirt and red tie. Then he slicked his hair to the side and dug his church shoes out of the toy chest and put them on. He came downstairs to the kitchen and loaded up a bag of sugar cookies, looked at his father and said, "Let's go"!
Again, I was torn. He looked so adorable, and you have to admit, it took a lot of moxy to go to some girls house and ask her to be your girlfriend IN FRONT of her family, but would the parents freak out? (I have stories!) Would they laugh and think it was too cute? (Like me) You never really know how someone is going to react!
So off they went. they got to the house. Jax got out. So did Josh, for quiet moral support. Jax rang the doorbell. A lady answered. Jax said "These are for the family. (Hands over the bag of cookies)" "This is for A. (Hands over the scroll)" He was then informed that A. was on vacation with her "Dad". So they came home.
I asked Josh if he spoke to the Mom. NO, he figured I would call sometime in the upcoming week. Small problem........I don't know the Mom. Never met her. Don't have the number. So I drove back over to the house and talked to the lady who answered the door. NOT THE MAMA!
The whole family was on vaca with the exception of a special needs family member and this was the nurse. SO, I left my name and number so the parents could call if they wanted to talk (or yell) to/at us.
A. came home this last week. She called Jax and they talked for a good 10 minutes. (He was blushing the whole time) The next day he called her 5 times. We had to put a stop to that. Don't want to freak anyone out, but that was way too much talkin.
As an end note, they have decided to wait until they are 12 to be boyfriend/girlfriend but are "good friends" right now.

GOTTA LOVE YOUR KIDS!!!!!!!

I CANNOT believe how much older Jaxon looks. It is unreal! Despite how much older your kids are beginning to look for their ages they remain very cute.
